Southern African Journeys was the creation of a lifetime dream when Chris Tromp felt that a niche had opened in the Southern African market and grabbed the opportunity to create and put together a product that would capture his passion and love for Africa and all it has to offer.
Chris does not believe that traveling to Africa should be prohibitively expensive and it is his dream that everyone should, at least once in their lifetime, experience all that Africa has to offer. The challenge of adventure, seeking out new destinations and meeting diverse people from all around the world keeps Chris passionate about bringing guests to our beautiful country.
CHRIS TROMP
Chris has been involved in the tourism industry for over twenty years. He is a qualified guide, deep sea skipper and professional hunter and is passionate about South Africa, fishing, guiding, eco-tourism and sport. He holds a Diploma in Sports Marketing and spent many years in the military as an Infantry Lieutenant serving South Africa.
He lives in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town. He went to Sacs High School (the oldest school in the country) and was the only student to hold highest colours at his school for four different sports (shooting, rugby, water-polo and swimming).
In his free time Chris enjoys a round of golf, a good fishing trip either off the coast or inland, or watching a good game of rugby. Clients love Chris on tour. His stories, sense of humour and superb knowledge make him a wonderful and entertaining companion.
